Tatra T-87

A kit from Attack.
(Model finished 2002)

I decided on a civilian car as I wanted a red car with chrome.

Tatra T-57 Kübelwagen

This is something unusual. It's a Tatra Kübelwagen.
(Model finished 2000)

It was built on the chasse of a Tatra sports car. I wish that it would come as a kit to.

This kit is from Attack. As most open topped kits it could do with some more detailing inside. But I didn't bother, it's a nice kit anyhow.

GAZ-67

GAZ-67 from Fort, a very nice kit.
(Model finished 2000)

Not the easiest to build, but it has very fine details.

A pair of "Duck's"

DUKW From Airfix and Italeri. I bought the Italeri kit and decided to build the Airfix to compare them.

Airfix

This is the old Airfix kit built out of the box
(Model finished 2004)

It is in 1/76 scale

Italeri

This is the newer Italeri kit built out of the box
(Model finished 2004)

It is in 1/72 scale

HMMWV

This is the M1025 w.ASK from Dragon built as one of the Iraqi M1114 police vehichles.
(Model finished 2006)

It all started when I was on vacation and walked past an TV showing CNN. I noticed the blue and white HMMWV and instantly realised that this is how I will paint mine when I get home. Back home I searched the internet for pictures and only found two. Fortunately, one was big enough to help me see the markings. Then I noticed that the hatch on the roof was wrong for my project, so I had to rebuild that, but as I had to make the back and side armour for the weapon station it didn't matter.

One thing that did bother me was the air conditioner. I knew that I had to scratch it. I used plastic card for the housing and some thin plastic strips for the legs. That was the easy part. I didn't look forward to scratch build the round fan covers but I found another solution. I used some etched drum magazines for a 1/48 aircraft. They were at bit small, so I added a thin plastic strip around it to increase the diameter. Not perfect but it works for me.
The wheels are in resin from Calibre 72. They are really to flat for my taste, but I don't trust the "rubber tyres" in the kit so I used them anyway. I added a second Humvee from Dragon to the base that came from an old Matchbox kit.
