BT-5

A BT-5 from UM and the biggest problem was to decide if it should be built it on wheels or on tracks. The plastic was of the softer type so one had to be careful with the knife, but the parts had no flash and fitted together very well. The hard plastic link and length tracks had details on both sides. There was a small etched fret as well. Most of it for the engine deck.
(Model finished 2003)

It was been a easy build. Just a couple of things to think about:
1. Headlights, there is no location marks for these on the front fenders. I mounted them as the last items before paint to be sure that they would fit.
2. The etched engine screen is a tiny bit to short and was a bit tricky to bend in the right shape. I used 0.25mm plastic strips to fill the gap between the hull and the screen (both front and rear). This will probably be easier to do before the screen is glued in place.
3. There are some etched plates to be glued under the engine deck screen. I substituted them with new made from 0.25mm plastic card as it was easier to glue them in place.
4. There are tow shackles provided on the etched fret. I found them not to good. They looked to thin and to square. I probably substitute them with some round material or leave them out.
So, two evenings work and it was ready to paint. I managed to break the gun barrel. I said it was a soft plastic.

KV-1E

A PST 1/72 scale kit that I converted to the one captured and used by the Finns.
(Model finished 2003)

I reshaped the air intakes and made new fenders.

I used Tamiya colours on the model. 100% XF-13 J.A. Green 2/3 XF-57 Buff + 1/3 XF-19 Sky Grey 4/5 XF-52 Dark Earth + 1/5 XF-1 Black

KV-2

A KV-2 captured and used by the Germans. The figures came from Preiser.
(Model finished 2002)

I built the PST kit out of the box but the cupola shouldn't be placed on the same place as the original hatch. It's great finding this information when I just finished the paintjob. But it wasn't to much work to alter this. I only had to paint the new hatch as it I managed to fix this without to much damage to the rest. Well so much for going the easy way and build things out of the box.

SU-100

An AER kit of the SU-100 in Polish markings.
This is a very old build and I can't find any notes about it but I can see that as this is an AER kit I have made one correction to it.

AER managed to put the larger gap betwen the road wheels in the wrong place on their T-34/85 and SU-100. The have the gap between the third and fourth wheel when I should have been between the second and third.

SU-122

I really like this camo. The red circle on the roof is an eyecatcher. It was an air recognition mark for the Leningrad area apparently. It was a color profile in a book about the eastern front that made me want to build it.
(Model finished 2003)

The SU 122 is the Eastern Express kit. It was just a quick build, straight from the box. On the pictures it looks like there is a heavy orange peel paintjob, but it was an experiment trying to get a more coarse surface giving that look. I think that it might perhaps be more suited for a 1/35 kit. But it isn't quite as bad as it looks on the pictures.
